Festival of One-Act Plays 2011
I.E.D. (written by Vic Mills)
Director: Neil Maidman
I.E.D. is a one-act play that revolves around a young man called Davey. Set in the present day, Davey is a soldier fighting in Afghanistan, who specialises in disarming I.E.D.'s (improvised explosive device).
However, he is
dying, and during the eight minutes he has left to
live, he remembers certain events of his life.
These events include memories of
his younger
sister, Ellie, who is being challenged politically for the first
time,
the relationship with his girlfriend Hannah, who
also narrates the play and the
uncomfortable
family life after a bitter divorce which left his mother in
pieces.

The Tobacco Tin (written by Richard Rowe)
Director: Neil Maidman
Dai Jack and Arthur Williams have been the best of mates since childhood. Now pensioners, the pair find themselves seated on the same park bench they used to frequent as children.
However, as their lives unfold, so do the memories that they both
had with loved ones. With these stories there are some hidden
truths; Arthur learns a great deal about his best friend and a
secret that Dai kept nearly all of his
