Get Involved
Details of the different aspects of theatre you can get involved in with us are listed below. If you are interested or would like further information, please contact us via phone or email.
We are normally at BLT at least 4 times a week, during the evenings mainly. So the theatre is not constantly manned. If there is no answer at the theatre, please leave your name and contact details and we will be in touch.

Acting
We are always looking for new people, of all ages, to join our theatre. Our programme of events consist of numerous productions, ranging from dramas, one act plays and comedies to pantomimes, so there is something suitable for everyone.
We normally only audition for pantomimes, as auditions are often thought of as nerve-wracking and intimidating, and we don't want to discourage new people. So whenever there is a new play to cast, we sit in the upstairs bar and have an informal 'read through'.
This means you can meet existing members of the theatre and 'audition' for the part in a friendly, relaxed environment.
Backstage/Front of House
Backstage roles are very important. They are vital to a
performance, and can make or break a show. Backstage duties include
managing scenery, props, lighting, sound, etc.
We are
normally down the theatre every Tuesday night for 'work night'.
This set day of the week involves preparation for upcoming shows
and general theatre maintenance. Feel free to come along, however,
please contact
us
first to ensure that we will be there. Our contact details can be
found on our contact
page.
We also require enthusiastic volunteers to help us with the 'Front of House' duties, which include selling confectionary, managing tickets, selling programmes, etc. So if you enjoy meeting new people and would like to get involved without treading the boards, this may be an ideal role for you.
